You will receive this exact cutting - super melty with a healthy tip .
El Serpieñté originally comes from Cactus Ron . He is an older gentleman that lives near me and collects cacti . The clone “Son Of Ron” also comes from him ! The clone “El Serpieñté” received its name because it often grows a snake face top tip producing fang like spines that looks similar to a cobra 🐍! This clone was named years ago (not by me)& is rarely available, it has been seen throughout the past for sale on a few platforms but gets swooped up quickly!
This clone grows as a TBM on its own roots , terminating with a peepee like tip and pupping from the top , creating a bush shaped stand . It can revert into longer growth but it always eventually gets a classic TBM (Trichocereus Bridgesii Monstrose) style tip and stops its growth and then pups from its top regaining its growth momentum .
El Serpieñté often grows as a four wind , with 4 ribs , giving it a blocky look . I personally think it grows like a TBM made out of Legos ! Its rectangular structure is very attractive and quite unique!
When grown on its own roots it likes to stack with smooth sides and really puts out a lot of cool strange and unique looks . Although it is a bit slower growing on its own roots , the rad growth it produces is worth the slower growth rate .
When grafted it grows much faster . Grafts can sometimes revert to 5 ribs looking more normal for a bit , spines on these can be long and spine length can be influenced by increased heat . After pupping on grafts & At about 6-7” of growth it often gets 2 fang like spines and then goes 2 ribbed before terminating then quickly pupping from the tip , giving its a stacked TBM look .
Really a fun one to grow and watch change ! This is one that you can never predict what it will do next ! You will receive this exact pictured cutting . All sides are pictured and the tape measure is in inches . This cutting is ready to ship and fullly calloused so you can plant it upon arrival! This cutting is fully hydrated and juicy , so you could graft it upon arrival if you wanted to create multiple new cacti 🌵!
Thanks for your support, & as always I’ve written this description based on my own personal growing experience with this particular clone and I don’t use any Ai 🤖 for my descriptions !!
