Deep blue ! This cactus stays blue in color with red spines that fade to black . In full sun it gets light blue with a powdery skin . In shade or filtered light it grows extremely blue , a bit less glaucous . When grown in the heat the spines grow extremely long , reaching over 3” in length!!! This cactus grows fat and gets a very thick trunk , often branching and producing basal pups !
